Brighton and the bayside suburbs around it are established, well-to-do areas where a lot of older homes are being knocked down and rebuilt. We work across Brighton, Bentleigh, Hampton and Moorabbin, and we see both sides of that: the old plumbing and the new.
Over the last two years we've done nearly 200 jobs around Brighton. Blocked drains are comfortably the most common, with leak detection and taps behind. The combination of mature trees, sandy bayside soils and aging sewer lines makes drains a real feature of the area.
Tree roots are a big part of why. In about a quarter of the blocked drains we clear around Brighton, roots have got into the pipe, which is on the high side and fits an area with big established gardens.
