Richie Foster, Fix-It Right Plumbing

Plumbers in Sunbury

Sunbury sits on Melbourne's north-western edge, a growing town with newer estates spreading out around an older centre. We cover Sunbury as part of our north-west service area.

While we've only done a handful of jobs in Sunbury itself so far, we do a lot of work in similar growing suburbs like Point Cook and Werribee, and in established northern areas with the same post-war homes. That tells us what to expect here. In the newer estates, the common calls are hot water systems and the occasional issue left over from the original install, not the old-pipe problems you get in established areas. Around the older town centre it's the other way around, aging pipework and drains that start to give trouble as the years go on.

That experience is the useful part. In the older homes we work on elsewhere, tree roots turn up in a good share of blocked drains, so if you're in an established Sunbury street and your drain keeps blocking, that's the first thing we'd check. In the newer estates it's rarely roots, more often something simpler. Either way, we find the actual cause rather than just clearing a blockage.

That's been the Fix-It Right way since Richie started the business in 2007, and it's how we'd look after your place in Sunbury.

The same plumber, start to finish

The plumber who comes out and works out what's wrong is the one who fixes it, and he stays with your job from start to finish until it's done properly, top to bottom. We don't send one person to look and another to do the work, and we never pull your plumber off your job to chase the next call. Not many plumbing companies anywhere are that strict about it, and it's why the job gets done right the first time.

Sunbury plumbing questions

Do you cover Sunbury?

Yes. Sunbury is part of our north-west service area, and we cover the full range of plumbing work here, from blocked drains and hot water to taps, toilets, gas and general maintenance.

You've only done a handful of jobs in Sunbury so far, so how do you know what to expect?

Because we do a lot of work in similar growing suburbs like Point Cook and Werribee, and in established areas with the same older homes. The patterns are consistent: new estates mostly throw up hot water and install issues, older homes throw up drains and aging pipework. We bring that experience to your job.

Who's my water authority in Sunbury?

Greater Western Water covers Sunbury. If the issue is at the meter or the street connection, that's their responsibility, and we'll help you work out what's yours and what's theirs before any work starts.

I'm in a newer Sunbury estate, what usually goes wrong?

In the newer estates we work in, it's mostly hot water systems and the occasional thing that wasn't quite right from the original build, rather than old-pipe problems. These are often quick to sort.

I'm in an older part of Sunbury, what should I watch for?

In older homes like these we typically see aging pipework and drains that block more as time goes on, sometimes from tree roots. We use leak detection and drain cameras to find exactly what's happening before we start.

What every job comes with

  • $0 call-out. We come out and look things over. If you don't go ahead, you don't pay.

  • Three written quotes. The first gets you out of trouble, the last takes care of everything the whole-home check found, and there's one in between. All of them are proper fixes.

  • Fixed For Good. Done properly the first time, triple tested before we leave, and backed by a 10-year workmanship warranty.
