Fitzroy and Collingwood are some of Melbourne's oldest suburbs: Victorian terraces and workers' cottages, warehouse conversions, and new apartments squeezed in between. We work across Fitzroy, Collingwood and Fitzroy North, and in streets this old the plumbing behind the walls is rarely what you'd expect.

In Collingwood, Thane fixed a leaking kitchen mixer and pointed out the other fittings around the house that were close behind, so they could all be sorted in one visit instead of four. In Fitzroy North, a dripping tap came with a gurgling basin, and both were down to worn seals and debris in the trap.

Leak detection in Fitzroy

A balcony leak in an apartment block can start in half a dozen places. In Collingwood, Adam opened the ceiling below and tested the balcony waste, drains, sealant and cladding one by one until the source showed itself. On another Collingwood job, Lachie's checks proved there was no active leak at all, which saved a repair nobody needed.

Toilet leaks in Fitzroy

A sewer smell in the bathroom usually means something isn't sealed. In Collingwood, Thane found a toilet pan with no seal where the bend meets the discharge pipe, fitted one, and the smell and the leak both stopped.
