Queanbeyan sits just over the border from Canberra in New South Wales, and together with the growing areas around it, Jerrabomberra, Googong and Karabar, it's a steady part of our work. We're across the area regularly.
Over the last two years we've done more than 230 jobs around Queanbeyan. It's a real mix: older established homes in Queanbeyan itself and Karabar, and fast-growing new estates in Jerrabomberra and Googong. That means the full range, from drain and pipe problems in the older streets to more straightforward work in the new builds.
The cold winters this side of the border make hot water a big part of what we do, and we carry systems in the vans so a failed one can usually be sorted fast. When a drain blocks we find out what's actually behind it rather than just clearing it.

What actually goes wrong in Queanbeyan homes
Older Queanbeyan homes can still have terracotta pipes, and the joints are where they let go. In Crestwood, Josh's leak detection found a crack at a terracotta toilet pipe join where water was slowly seeping out. It was repacked and sealed at that one join, with no digging up the rest of the line.

A hot water unit that's leaking isn't always a unit that needs replacing. In Jerrabomberra, Conrad found a burst copper pipe on the hot water unit, replaced it with a new lagged section, and serviced the kitchen taps on the same visit. You'll know if it needs fixing or replacing before we pick up a tool.
