Richie Foster, Fix-It Right Plumbing

Plumbers in Essendon, Moonee Ponds, Ascot Vale and Strathmore

Written by us, about the streets we work

Essendon and the suburbs around it are solid, established family areas, and we've been working across them for years, from Moonee Ponds through Ascot Vale and Strathmore. We know the streets and the kind of homes in them.

Over the last two years we've done more than 120 jobs around Essendon. Toilet repairs, blocked drains and taps are the most common, the everyday things that go wrong in a family home. A lot of the housing here is weatherboard and brick from the first half of last century, with plenty of mature gardens.

Those older gardens matter for drains. Tree roots are behind about one in eight blocked drains around Essendon, finding their way into older sewer joints. When we clear a blockage we check whether roots are the cause, so it's sorted properly rather than just cleared.

Whatever the job, from a blocked drain to a hot water system or a running toilet, we fix the cause, not just the symptom. That's been the Fix-It Right way since Richie started the business in 2007.

The same plumber, start to finish

The plumber who comes out and works out what's wrong is the one who fixes it, and they stay with your job from start to finish until it's done properly, top to bottom. We don't send one person to look and another to do the work, and we never pull your plumber off your job to chase the next call. Not many plumbing companies anywhere are that strict about it, and it's why the job gets done right the first time.

Essendon plumbing questions

Straight answers, no runaround

Why do toilets and drains come up so often in Essendon?

They're the everyday jobs in family homes, and Essendon, Moonee Ponds and Ascot Vale have plenty of those. Toilets wear out, drains block, taps drip. With blocked drains, tree roots are behind about one in eight, so we check whether roots are the cause rather than just clearing it.

Who's my water authority in Essendon?

Greater Western Water covers Essendon, Moonee Ponds, Ascot Vale and Strathmore. If the trouble is at the meter or the sewer connection at the street, that's their responsibility, and we'll help you sort out what's yours and what's theirs before any work starts.

My Essendon home is older, should I worry about the plumbing?

Not worry, but it's worth knowing. A lot of homes around Essendon and Ascot Vale date from the early-to-mid 1900s, with pipework that's been in a while. If something's not right we use leak detection to find exactly where before we start, so there's no unnecessary digging in an older home.

How quickly can you get to Essendon?

The inner north-west is a regular patch for us, so Essendon, Moonee Ponds, Ascot Vale and Strathmore are well covered, along with Flemington, Avondale Heights, Airport West and Pascoe Vale South.

Do you do more than drains and toilets in Essendon?

Yes, the full range: hot water, taps, leak detection, burst pipes, gas and general maintenance around the home. Whatever the job, we fix the cause, not just the symptom.
