Doncaster and the suburbs around it are established, family areas in Melbourne's north-east, with large homes on generous blocks. We work across Doncaster, Templestowe and Bulleen, and we know the area well.
Over the last two years we've done more than 130 jobs around Doncaster. It's a steady mix of blocked drains, taps, toilets and hot water, the everyday things that come up in family homes. A lot of the housing dates from the 1970s and 80s, on big blocks with mature gardens.
Those established gardens feed into the drain work. Tree roots find their way into older sewer joints, and when we clear a blockage in Doncaster we check whether roots are the cause, so it's fixed properly rather than just cleared.

What actually goes wrong in Doncaster homes
A leak that comes and goes is the hardest kind to pin down, and the one most worth getting right. In Bulleen, the first tests showed nothing active. Lachie kept looking and found a loose flexible hose behind a toilet that only leaked some of the time, then fixed the same weak point on the second toilet before it could do the same.
