Richie Foster, Fix-It Right Plumbing

Plumbers in Bundoora, Greensborough, Ivanhoe and Heidelberg

Bundoora and the suburbs around it make up a big slice of Melbourne's leafy north-east, from the established riverside homes of Ivanhoe and Heidelberg through to post-war Bundoora and the newer Mill Park estates. We work right across Bundoora, Greensborough, Ivanhoe and Heidelberg, and it's a steady patch for us.

Over the last two years we've done more than 90 jobs around Bundoora. The most common calls are taps, blocked drains and leak detection, which fits the mix of housing here: older brick and weatherboard homes closer to the Yarra and Plenty rivers, and 1970s-through-1990s homes and estates further out. The clay soils through this part of Melbourne move with the seasons, which is hard on older pipework and a regular cause of leaks and drain trouble.

When a drain blocks in the established streets, tree roots are often part of the story, the mature gardens and older sewer lines give them a way in. We check whether roots are behind a blockage rather than just clearing it, so the same drain isn't back on you in six months.

Whatever the job, from a hidden leak to a blocked drain or a hot water system, we fix the cause, not just the symptom. That's been the Fix-It Right way since Richie started the business in 2007.

The same plumber, start to finish

The plumber who comes out and works out what's wrong is the one who fixes it, and he stays with your job from start to finish until it's done properly, top to bottom. We don't send one person to look and another to do the work, and we never pull your plumber off your job to chase the next call. Not many plumbing companies anywhere are that strict about it, and it's why the job gets done right the first time.

Bundoora plumbing questions

Do you cover the north-east suburbs around Bundoora?

Yes, it's a regular patch. We cover Bundoora, Greensborough, Ivanhoe and Heidelberg, along with Mill Park, Rosanna, Macleod, Watsonia, Viewbank and Lower Plenty.

Why do leaks and drain problems come up around Bundoora?

A lot of it is the clay soils through the north-east, which move with the seasons and are hard on older pipework over time. Add mature gardens and older sewer lines closer to the rivers, and you get leaks and the occasional root-blocked drain. We use leak detection and drain cameras to find exactly where the trouble is before we start.

Who's my water authority in Bundoora?

Yarra Valley Water covers Bundoora and the surrounding north-east suburbs. If the issue is at the meter or the sewer connection at the street, that's their responsibility, and we'll help you work out what's yours and what's theirs before any work starts.

I'm in a newer Bundoora or Mill Park estate, do you work on newer homes?

Definitely. The newer estates mostly throw up hot water systems, taps and the odd thing left from the original build, rather than old-pipe problems. We're out this way regularly and these are often quick to sort.

What jobs do you do most around Bundoora?

Taps, blocked drains and leak detection lead the list, plus hot water, toilets, burst pipes and gas. Whatever the job, we fix the cause, not just the symptom.

What every job comes with

  • $0 call-out. We come out and look things over. If you don't go ahead, you don't pay.

  • Three written quotes. The first gets you out of trouble, the last takes care of everything the whole-home check found, and there's one in between. All of them are proper fixes.

  • Fixed For Good. Done properly the first time, triple tested before we leave, and backed by a 10-year workmanship warranty.
